Our plant knowledge is extensive, ensuring that the most suitable species are planted according to your garden’s soil type and the amount of sunlight your garden receives.

We source the very finest plants for your project. After many years’ trial and error we now deal exclusively with Swinesmeadow Garden Centre. Their stock is always of an excellent quality, is reasonably priced plus Colin and Karan – the owners – can source all manner of exotic plants to ensure your garden looks like no other.
We also specialise in raised beds, patios, summer houses, greenhouses, trellis, fences and pergolas to complete your project to your exacting standards.
Lawn care
Deep In Gardens specialises in maintaining and treating lawns, no matter how small or large. We can provide a regular service to those clients wishing their lawns to be cut on a fortnightly basis, plus we can treat the grass to remove all weeds and moss.
If your lawn requires a total overhaul to replenish it, or you wish to have a new lawn laid, we will be only too pleased to help. Laying a new lawn – using turf or seed – is very season dependant. We tend to lay new lawns or spread lawn seed between the months of May through to September when temperatures allow new roots to spread and the lawn to succeed.
The treatments we use are pet and child friendly. It’s a granular weed and moss killer that, when watered in to the lawn within 24 hours of application, will not cause adverse effects.
We can also offer a feeding service, using environmentally friendly organic lawn feed that will transform any dull-looking lawn to a lovely lush green in under a week.
Pond and water feature installation
A pond or water feature adds an impressive visual and audible appeal to any garden. Here at Deep In Gardens we are expert pond and water feature installers, having dug many over the years.
Whether you are hoping for a fish pond to keep koi, carp, orfe and the likes, a small wildlife pond to attract frogs, newts and dragonflies, or even a bog garden to grow impressive semi-aquatic species such as the magnificent gunnera, rushes or barred horsetail we will happily undertake the work for you.
But if you’d prefer the gentle trickle of a water feature set amongst a border, flower, raised bed or even cut into an existing patio, contact us and we will discuss the requirements, helping you choose the right feature and pump to gain the maximum benefit from the running water.
Hedge trimming, pruning and removal
No matter how high, long or untidy your hedge is, you can rely upon Deep In Gardens to sort it out to your exact requirements.
Regardless of the species of hedge, from tall leylandii through to low-lying box hedging, we will ensure it is pruned, shaped and trimmed perfectly.
If you wish to use Deep In Gardens on a regular basis to ensure your hedge retains its shape, contact us and we will return as many times as the hedge species requires; a couple of times a year for slow-growing conifers and laurels, more for swift-growing privet and beech.
We are also prepared to remove hedges and their roots to make way for walling or a new fence, or simply to open up your garden to make it more ‘airy’.
We dispose of all cuttings, branches and green waste legally at Prentice Brothers, which incurs an additional cost of £20 per trailer load (up to 1.5 tons).
Low maintenance gardens
Creating a low maintenance garden is the perfect solution for the working family. My own garden has been purposely created to be low maintenance. A combination of gravel, weed block membrane, a small lawn and a variety of trees, shrubs and perennials interspersed within the gravel provides stunning colour throughout the year. It’s a complete success.
Deep In Gardens can create your low maintenance garden, working closely with you to provide vibrant planting schemes set amongst borders that require very little care. Weeding will become a thing of the past!
Whether you prefer gravel over the top of a substantial weed blocking membrane, or more natural bark chippings – both work wonderfully to ensure your garden looks beautiful every day of the year.
